Sage & Stone Bath

A small bathroom made calm: large warm-stone porcelain replaces the busy multicolour tiles, the shower gets its own sage zellige wall behind a brass-framed glass screen, the WC hangs off a stone ledge that hides the cistern, and a wall-hung teak vanity frees the floor by the door.

Order of work

  1. Week 1Take out the old tiles, WC and basin. Re-route supply and waste for the wall-hung WC and vanity, fix the cistern frame. Waterproof floor and walls, flood-test for 24 hours.
  2. Week 2Lay the floor with falls to the drain, tile the walls and the zellige shower wall, form the niche and ledge.
  3. Week 3False ceiling, lights and exhaust. Hang the WC, vanity and mirror cabinet, fit the shower, screen and door.

Room sizes are estimates from your photos and video, with the slab at 10 ft (3.05 m) as given. Measure on site before ordering the screen and vanity.

Tile textures are drawn to size for this model; wood, linen and plaster textures are CC0 scans from Poly Haven.

The photos are path-traced in Blender Cycles. The plant and vase are CC0 models from Poly Haven.

In the 3D model the light is baked from the same path tracer as the photos: sun patches, soft shadows, bounce light by day and lamp pools by evening.
